India thrashes Windies by an Inning and 141 runs

Ind vs Wi 1st Test Highlights: Jaiswal heroics and Ashwin 12-fer guide Ind to an Easy Win

India won by an Innings and 141 runs

India vs Windies 1st Test held at Dominica, Windies was comfortably won by India after some brilliant performances from the Indian captain Rohit Sharma (103), Yashasvi Jaiswal (171), Virat Kohli (76) and Ashwin 12 wicket haul in a match.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan debuted for India while Alick Athanaze made his debut for Windies. Cornwall also made a comeback for the Windies in the test match after 2 years of absence.

Ashwin Magic runs through Windies Batting Lineup

After winning the toss, Windies decided to bat first but was called well wrong because of Ashwin's magic with the ball.
He took 5 wickets in the first innings and took another 5-wicket haul in the second innings capturing 7 wickets in just 21.3 overs bowling 7 maidens. Taking two 5-wicket hauls in the match he equals the record for most five-wicket hauls at 5th position with Sri-Lankan left-arm spinner Rangana Herath.

Jaiswal made a dream debut

After bowling out the Windies for just 150 runs in their 1st innings, Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma stitched a record-breaking 229 runs partnership after Rohit Sharma falls to the very next ball after scoring his 15th Test match century.

Meanwhile, Jaiswal continued to show his pure class in the middle, and despite the early wicket of Shubman Gill, he stitched a well-made century scoring 171 runs off 387 balls hitting 16 boundaries and 1 maximum to the left-arm spinner.

Virat Kohli continued his New Version

As Virat Kohli continued to show his form in limited-overs cricket, he also continued that form in the whites. Batting on the slow pitch, he looked solid throughout the innings scoring 76 runs off 182 balls scoring 5 well-scored boundaries. Since scoring runs on that pitch was becoming very difficult, he continued to score singles. He scored his first boundary after 80 balls as a result he made his 3 slowest 50 in test match history.

Rohit Continued to Score in Test match

Since Jaiswal has scored a big century, Rohit's performance can't be overshadowed as the captain scored his 7th century in WTC, most by an Indian batter.

The captain leads from the front as India declared on 421/5 after the debutant Ishan Kishan made his 1st run in Test Cricket. Rohit scored 103 runs off 221 balls scoring 10 boundaries and 2 maximums.

Ashwin Equaled Kumble's Record

Ravichandran Ashwin equaled one more record as he equaled the most 10 wickets haul in Test cricket after getting his 8th 10-wicket haul after getting out Cornwall in the second innings. Now, only Rangana Herath, Richard Hadlee, Shane Warne, and Muttiah Muralitharan are ahead of him.

Jaiswal Joined the Elite list after Test Ton on debut

After bringing up his 1 test ton in his Very first Match, he enters the elite list of scoring a debut hundred in the test match away from an Indian. He becomes the only 7th player and 1st opener to achieve this feat. Prior to this Test, Jaiswal had only participated in 15 first-class matches, but he averaged over 80 and scored nine hundred, including a spectacular 265 in the second innings of the Duleep Trophy Final the previous year proving his class in this format.

Now, India is 1-0 in the 2-match series against the Windies and will try to clean sweep the series while on the other hand, Windies will try to bounce back as Braithwaite's team had done it before. India will pray for the players to continue their form and could win the series comfortably.
